Pathology Review
Well, for a change, my Ex Girlfriend finally came through and recommended something worth watching, a perky and disturbing little film that seemed to pass me by till it was mentioned just recently.
The film is from the creative Writers that brought us "Crank", is Directed by Marc Schoelermann and Stars Heroes' Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli).
The films starts out with a New Resident (Ventimiglia) joining a Hospital alongside other Residents. This may sound familiar but, don't worry, this is no Scrubs rip off! He soon starts to find out that the Pathology Department of this particular Hospital houses some dark and interesting secrets. Thankfully for us, the viewers, these Secrets are massively exposed around 5-10 minutes into the Movie. This DOES make it kind of predictable but, at the same time, sparks some form of hidden interest and intrigue which keeps us fixated on our Screens throughout the film.
Anyway, the movie tightly spins around the role of a "game" played by a select group of the Residents. Now, without spoiling the plot here, I'll simply mention that the "game" in reference pans out to Involve lots of scenes including Sex, Drug use and Gore. Though the film itself has Gore throughout due to, you know, the majority of it being set in an active Hospital Morgue. So there's plenty of interesting stuff going on for those of you who aren't faint of Heart and Weak of Stomach.
Because of the residents game and the level of which they manage to get away with their activities, they begin to experience an inflation of their egos and, thus forth, their attitudes. As with any movie this leads to serious consequnces for them towards the latter half of Plotline.
Milo Ventimiglia plays an amazingly serious role throughout this movie and, as twisted and screwed up as his Character becomes at parts, still manages to clasp hold of the facade of the "Good Guy". Ventimiglia seriously overshadows his role as Peter in Heroes, in my Opinion anyway.
The movie invertantly managed to peak my perverse need for some form of visual taboo to be filled for the week anyway. Well at least till I catch wind of the next gore filled, visually masturbatory, horrifically brilliant flick I catch myself searching for Trailers of on youtube anyway. Seriously, I've not seen a Horror film that actually even breaches the definition of the word recently, till now anyway, that's just how bloody good this is!
So yeah, erm, I highly recommend you watch this movie and, from me, it gets 4 out of 5 Claps.
