The government seem a little confused, again.
"The Government has no intention of legalising cannabis. Cannabis has the capacity to damage people’s mental and physical health, and harms both individuals and communities."
Around 65% of the worldwide population are lactose intolerant, myself included. That said we can still go buy delicious farmed cheeses and milks to purposely damage our health, with no real benefits over some potential protein and calcium gains.
Now I’m no vegan, but isn’t the forced enslavement/encampment of Cows, to do our bidding, just as bad - if not worse than any “harm” we’ve ever heard of any plant or drug (legal or not,) bringing to a community?
I also hear dairy before bed can bring on nightmares, essentially temporarily damaging mental health - assuming bad dreams are an indication something is “wrong”.
Just like it’s us humans that made the decision to enslave other species, it’s also generally our decisions, collectively & individually, that harm other people, communities, and ourselves.
Saying a plant is to blame for a person’s actions, regardless of their involvement with it, simply isn’t true. More often than not, the fault lies within our own emotions and how we react to them - usually with money (a human notion), being the catalyst for emotions such as greed.
Dairy is bad for you, and humans are not designed to drink milk (especially that of another species) beyond infancy, yet bud is still illegal. Despite knowing what we know about it’s many benefits, in various forms, from recent studies and personal experiences?
