Regarding Changes on Teen Forums…
For those of you that don’t know, Teen Forums is a Community I run.
I thought it important, after monitoring the actions taking towards new members here, that I make a few changes.
Firstly, any Moderators, who have been found to be insulting, aggressive, racist, judgemental or just plain intolerant, have been removed from their roles. Effective immediately.
Secondly, I’d like everyone to lesson their grasp of Grammar when reading posts by either Members younger than themselves or Members that are only just starting out in the Community. Some people may be too young to spell correctly, some may be used to typing in “TXT TLK” and it might take them a little time to adjust, others may be simply be dyslexic. I know I, personally, wouldn’t seem as literate if I didn’t have Spell Checkers to rely upon.
A lot of you fail to realise this is a Teen Forum. Teen being the important term here. Sure I’ve opened this Community up, to accommodate 13-25 Year Olds, but only because I think that the younger members would benefit and learn from the guidance of those of us that are “getting on a bit”.
A lot of New Members of this Community may be first time Forum users. A lot of the time that’s why they post frantically, creating new Threads and asking for Replies, as though they were using a Chat Room.
Don’t simply decide you don’t like these people because of this, instead why not support them and try to explain what the purpose of a Forum is and how it’s different to Chat Rooms and, for example, MSN Messenger.
We should feel lucky to be able to educate these people to the ways of the Internet, not take the opportunity to frighten them off at every chance we get.
That’s all for now but there are bound to be more updates soon.
If you have any questions regarding any of this then please, don’t hesitate to ask.
Just looking for feedback on what I’ve said and done and maybe a few fresh new faces on the Forums.
The Original Thread is here.
